From an engineering to the owner’s lip spa brand

Nickie, the founder of Shea U, began her career in engineering, where she worked in project engineering design and site construction control. Her personal struggle with dry lips, as well as her family’s, led her to experiment with various lip products. However, she found it challenging to find a product that effectively moisturized and improved the condition of her lips.

In pursuit of her entrepreneurial dreams, Nickie pursued further education abroad, earning an International Master’s in Business Administration from Beijing, China after studying language in the United Kingdom. After her studies, she returned to Thailand to take care of her family business for a year and co-manage a drug store with her brother.

Nickie’s background in engineering, combined with her entrepreneurial spirit, eventually led her to launch Shea U, a lip spa brand that offers natural and organic products to effectively moisturize dry lips.

In the meantime, we also became aware of customer issues such as dry and cracked lips. Combined with our desire to establish our own brand and a passion for spa products that can be used at home, we began researching. Our priority was to use natural and organic ingredients that are readily available around us. She was also committed to incorporating scents that evoke the essence of Thailand, utilizing blends such as lemongrass and rosemary to provide a refreshing and cheerful aroma.

Following that, we developed the product into a lip balm, which the brand has also trademarked as “Shea U Lip Spa”. The term “lip spa” refers to a lip balm with an aroma scent. We carefully selected scents by using aromatic essential oils, which naturally possess fragrances and other unique properties found in the selected extracts. We blended them to create our own signature scent. The top note scent of Shea U is a refreshing blend of lemongrass and rosemary, meticulously crafted to evoke a soothing sensation with every application.

Shea come from Shea Butter one of the ingredients and Shea U is synonym with Cheer You Up to encourage you all the time and also synonym in Chinese word as Jia You meaning is fighting! As our lip Spa made your day and cheered you up! Because Nickie thinks that a healthy lip will give you more confidence.

Nickie thinking right back about natural ingredients are full of properties for your health no side effect as others chemical ingredient. So, a part of that she choose beeswax to become one of the ingredients. “In north of Thailand to many of the beekeeper, most of them they using bees to facilitating pollination on the flowers of longan fruit. Then get the honey bees and beeswax as can be use for lip balm but the smell like wax and someone don’t like that so, we have to process it to suit for cosmetic grade.

The process of manufacturer, they mixed with Shea butter, organic coconut oil, sweet almond oil and so on then added lemongrass extract, rosemary extract, and geranium extract to make the good quality of the product.
